595285 2007-09-26 23:00:00 Whenever the lid of our fancy new Asus R1F tablet PC is closed (or standby is initiated any other way), Windows XP Tablet goes into standby fine, but refuses to come out. This happens with hibernation too. :badpc::help:

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

595286 2007-09-27 02:11:00 I take it that your new tablet is running Vista?
If this is the case you may like to make yourself familiar with the problems that Vista SP1 is going to fix. This area is one of them.

595288 2007-09-27 06:02:00 Do you have enough RAM/HDD space to actually allow hibernation and standby to work? My old PC wouldn't come out either because it din't have enough RAM. beeswax34 (63)

Didn't come out of hibernation due to lack of RAM...?
How much RAM did you have?
(Im guessing it can't have been much...)

595290 2007-09-27 13:31:00 186MB, good guess considering I already said I din't have much.

I'm guessing you're going to guess that I din't have much RAM.

595291 2007-09-27 20:55:00 1GB RAM, and the approx. 50GB partition is nearly 1/4 full. pcuser42 (130)

Wow!
I salute you, Sir!
186MB! How could you survive!
I have run XP Pro on 64MB but that was only for an experiment... (which went surprisingly well)

595293 2007-09-28 06:47:00 You don't want to know lol But you know it wasn't that bad, it ran just fine (XP Pro)

PS, they've made XP run on 32MB:eek:(somehow!)
