And it doesn't matter that much - contrary to people who blame their issues on them all the time.
I've only ever had 1 dead one and that was a Dlink in case you needed to know.True. I personally don't consider D-Link to be too bad. The one I had lasted something like 2-3 years before it died

Against my better judgement I purchased a Netgear DG834G from Noel Leemings, and as expected paid $50 above what its retails for elsewhere.

Tragic.

The issue was that I was in a rushYeah, I got stuck in same boat, D-Link died on a Friday night, and had no net to order online :(
Just as an example, You can nominate a PC on the network, and then restrict its network access to specific hours, and block sites for specific PCs. I have no use for these features but I could see them being extremly useful in a house with kids. The Belkin also has this feature :) ... one that may be about to get used often :D

596620 2007-10-01 20:24:00 The issue was that I was in a rush (adsl had been enabled and I discovered I had given away my entire stash of routers) I had walked out of DSE when the sales-child took more then 6.3 minutes to emerge from the backroom with the requested goods, and I refuse to shop in Harvey Normans.

Yes I went into DSE the other week to buy a phone cable, the one that connects your router to the phone lines as the plastic clip had broken, and I walked around DSE for about 10 mins with sales children watching me from the counter, so I went up to the counter and asked if they are here to stare at customers, oh sorry didn't see you.

596621 2007-10-01 20:30:00 I went with a Linksys WAG325N and it was real easy to setup and has heaps of options similar to what Metla mentioned. Wouldn't touch D-Link. Cartman (12602)
596622 2007-10-01 20:47:00 I tend to go for a special tool for a special use...therefor I have a DSL modem (Westell Wirespeed) and a Linksys/Cysco Etherfast Cable/DSL Router (BEFSR41).

Stacked, I have used them fearlessly for over 4 years now and except for a PS getting hit by lightning spike, I haven't had a whit of trouble.

I prefer to use just one thing to do it's own thing well and not be saddled with multiple purposes and abilities. Modular, I think it's called.

596623 2007-10-02 10:34:00 Site I look after has had a bad run on ADSL wireless routers. In 18 mths they have had to return a US Robotics and two Linksys WAG54GP2's. They now have a WAG200G so hope it lasts a bit longer! linw (53)
