If it is clever enough, it will retain these rights after the restore is finished and wreck havoc on your computer. I have seen some software not install correctly and system restore did fix it. BUT DemonHunter is RIGHT about the viruses etc. I've seen many people say "roll the system back to before it became infected" Thats fine apart from the viruses and spyware usually " go for the ride" and even if you restore back 2 weeks it's still infected. Thats why if you run any antispyware / virus programs you sometimes have to turn off system restore and delete all points - even after cleaning when you reboot the Bug*ers are still in restore and put themselves right back after a reboot. |

(look back and see who said it was no good - Not Me!) In fact it has just saved me possible hours of work. A customers XP did an update yesterday and screwed the LAN connection, no matter what was tried the onboard LAN port would not show. It was as if it had totally failed. I ran system restore back to before the win updates and it was all working again. The reason I mentioned about the spyware in restore is LOTS of people try to clean PC and then wonder why it reinfects right away. Many average people don't even know what restore is / does. |
