| 596941 | 2007-10-01 22:32:00 | Hey peeps, I have a user that is using a mac and is looking to store some info in a database format, that can be easily updated or deleted. I know only of MS Access that I have often used in windows only, just wondering if there is a very simple and user friendly software for MACs that I can show her how to use. Has to be a free software. cheers. |

Normally I would suggest Filemaker which is cross platform but its not free, other than that have a look here www.versiontracker.com You mentioned MS Access which I am pretty sure comes with MS Office for Mac if she doesn't already have that. |

Just need some feedback on it. Its also free as well. Thanks for your reply plod. Also I kinda got the topic title wrong, m not looking to create any database but actually looking for a simple database program to use in Macs. Sorry for the error guys. |

I'm in the same boat as plod on this one, I have never needed to use a data base application in my job although the last data base I used was a small one built in Excel which did the job. I have just picked up iWork 08 which unfortunately doesn't do data bases...yet. |

I'm going to go out on a knifes edge here. Get him to download 4 free ones, there is bound to be one that suits him. And for the knife edge, most free mac software from what I have used is very good. |

Other than that a MySQL database should work with OS X. I just did a database search on Apple.com and came up with this www.apple.com |
