1419357 2016-04-20 05:06:00 Girl friend told to accept Windows 10 download onto her W7 pc.

She tells me the Circle has been spinning for three hours, is that normal????? or just because it's supplanting W7.

1419358 2016-04-20 05:17:00 My laptop takes about 3 ~ 4 hours to do an upgrade though I usually see more that a circle going around.. paulw (1826)
1419359 2016-04-20 05:53:00 A lot depends on what's on the laptop ( amount of data/ programs etc) as well the specs of the laptop. Seen it take a couple hours on lower spec laptops, or like one I did on Monday, once W10 had downloaded some updates, since it was upgrading from a DVD, it took less than 15 minutes once it required a reboot (high powered Laptop with SSD drive).

What ever you do DONT stop it, if you do theres a HIGH chance it will corrupt the install and you'll be faced with a data recovery ( if its not already saved) and a complete fresh install.

BUT if its taking a long time then expect troubles anyway.

Can beat you by quite a few years.

You would still remember the old leather bound ledgers no doubt, those were the days of accounting and using one's brains.
