1414113 2016-01-06 21:40:00 We have a satellite dish on the roof of our motorhome and need to know the elevation necessary for Levin where we will be travelling to at Easter.

Hopefully someone can help us with that. Thank you.

1414115 2016-01-06 22:21:00 Thank you, KarameaDave. It took me a few minutes to work out how it worked but I managed it in the end.

Thanks for your help. Most appreciated.

1414116 2016-01-06 23:44:00 Here is what came with the dish I had installed on my campervan. There are more instructions should you want them.

The key to tuning seems to be to do everything slowly to allow the connection to be made. First, do the elevation, and then do the azimuth. It is amazing how the settings vary throughout the country. I sometimes find that I can't get a signal to lock on when we first park up in mid afternoon, but it is easy in the early evening... I also guess that if the van is on a slope, it affects the elevation, and you may need to adjust for that.

Later: Humph, I tried to attach a .pdf file of 364kb, but this site claims it is an invalid file and won't upload it. PM me your email address and I will send you the document that way if you like.

1414117 2016-01-07 06:52:00 elevation details are meaningless unless the dish's pole is perfectly vertical. odds of getting a motor home level is fairly remote. also may need to fine tune the lnb. tweak'e (69)

Mine works just fine, as do all the other motorhome aerials out there that aren't perfectly level. Never had to fine tune the Inb, whatever that is when it is at home. If I can't get a good signal, the main reason is an inconvenient tree.

1414119 2016-01-07 17:56:00 I have the amount of turns ( 1 1/4) from all the way up and back out for Auckland. So when I go to say Taupo its all the way up back 1 and a quarter turns and a gnats cock further for down south or in a bit in for for Northland. prefect (6291)

Unless I am misunderstanding the function of that meter, that appears to be already covered by the satellite finder built into my TV in the van.

It does not tel you elevation and and it is not needed. Because all sat boxes come with a signal strength meter. All you have do is find it once and make a mark as there is not much difference between Kaitia and Bluff.
