1413784 2016-01-03 19:27:00 I'm currently trying to make up my mind between the following

LG G3 (might be out of my budget)
Smart ultra (find this a bit on the big side)
P8 lite
Huawei Y6
Moto E (no flash on the camera and camera not great)

Budget is $300 may stretch to $350.

I can't afford a P8 and I don't want a Moto G. I have had a play with the smart ultra and it is huge but its till in the running if the other options are not good enough.

Thanks guys & girls.

1413785 2016-01-03 19:47:00 If you don't want the Moto G forget the Moto E then as it has lower specs.. You could look at the cheap Chinese phone thread in GeekZone. www.geekzone.co.nz paulw (1826)

1413787 2016-01-03 21:15:00 Why don't you want a Moto G? Otherwise I'd run with the Smart Ultra. Nick G (16709)

1413789 2016-01-03 21:56:00 Bit late now, but some of the Toaster shops over Xmas/New Year were having some damn good deals.

SWMBO was dead set on getting a Samsung J5 after Santa had given her some $$ , We originally went to Noel Leemings, but the sales guy wasn't really interested, looking everywhere apart from talking to us, and then tried to sell her a samsung S6 --- We then went into Hardly Normals, they were out of the J5's as well, apart from versions locked to Spark :(

The guy was really helpful though, he showed her a HTC instead, its got a bigger screen ( by 1/2") and the price was great, $297, actually slightly cheaper than the Samsung. Reduced from the now normal price of $599. My Son has a HTC M18 ( I think) its good as well.

www.harveynorman.co.nz loves it, doing sorts of things.

Made her WTF yesterday :devil I went onto the Google device locator, and made her phone ring (full volume) :devil

The Samsung J5 is still available (now) for $299 (2 Degrees) Yet the same phone on Spark is $399--Ripoff on sparks side.

1413790 2016-01-04 04:07:00 I'm leaning towards the Y6 at the moment although have to wait until later in the month for funds.

The Y6 is slightly smaller than the Smart Ultra, these are the final 2 that I have to eventually decide between

1413791 2016-01-04 04:20:00 Since I have just found the Y6 for $189 at Noel Leeming until 3 Feb that's what it will be. gary67 (56)
1413792 2016-01-04 05:13:00 Some good budget phones: www.youtube.com

You'd probably have to get them through ebay/amazon though.

1413793 2016-01-04 08:01:00 Gary, my daughter, son in law, and I all have Huawei phones. I think the model is Y360, cost about $100 from The Warehouse. The three of us are with 2d or Voda. The phones are fine, but crap camera. Who gives a toss? We wanted something to phone up with, and we already have decent cameras for taking pictures.

My granddaughter has a Huawei Y360 now - I bought it for her to replace the Huawei Y230 that she wrecked. I hear from my son that she has nearly wrecked the Y360. She is getting better - it took her only one go to stuff my former Samsung tablet, requiring a factory reset.

Moral: fell confident buying a Huawei phone, but don't lend it to my granddaughter...
