Granted, there are some nasty stories in the Bible, but there are some very nice stories as well if you just want to find them.

You could have just commented on the nice things without dragging god into it....."if you have ever marvelled at the magnificence of our earth and how everything is so intertwined with everything else you might agree that something had a hand in designing it all."

Nice stories....I have read the whole damn book you know.
negative - well look at what that book has caused in the world - more fighting and suffering than anything else.

Yes, I remain negative towards religion.

1413862 2016-01-05 18:57:00 Sorry, that's a lot of plop. You may have evolved from a fish or a monkey, but I certainly didn't.

Show us a selfie Greg. Then we can judge for ourselves. :)

1413863 2016-01-05 19:06:00 I think this thread has been a bit hijacked.

Roscoe said he was not religious but he was commenting on how beautiful our world is.

I agree with him. We should look for the beauty in our world. It is there, just waiting to be seen.

Redirecting Thread....

Anyone got any pictures from their travels? Unfortunately the ex took all my South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile) pictures. But will try and get some from the North America tour... Most of my other travel has been for MotoGP and WSBKs haha. Will share some good ones if I find them!

1413866 2016-01-05 19:48:00 It may be a wonderful world to us all who:

Have shelter, clean water to drink, food
and can afford to travel.

I dare say though, that things may seem less wonderful
for those who don't enjoy the privilege of having been born in the 'First World'

Good to know that greg is not evolved, explains rather a lot.

1413867 2016-01-05 20:00:00 I am quite certain that I did not start a post on religion. I simply said what a great place our world is.

And you speak about the unrest in Ireland as a thing of the past, but it still goes on today. It just does not make the news any more.

Well your opening sentence started: “I find it difficult to believe in God”, which certainly would indicate religious overtones.

However, moving onto the world being a place of great beauty, there certainly are such places, but as the old proverb goes “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and I can’t find anything of great beauty crossing the Nullarbor or visiting Ayers Rock.

But then again some people find being at sea in a storm a thing of great beauty, whilst I find it a damn inconvenience. :(

As for Ireland, yes there is still plenty of "feeling" there, but at least the IRA are somewhat quieter. :)

Thank you for your support, Ken.

My travels have not been extensive, but I have seen enough over the years to appreciate just how diverse and beautiful this world of ours is. We should be very thankful.

1413869 2016-01-05 21:51:00 Watching this vid (Car Karaoke) (www.youtube.com) of Stevie Wonder, the UK talk back host would not let Stevie drive. Why not I thought - then realized had forgotten he's blind. So how do blind people see the beautiful world? The talented handicap ones might write, compose, and sing beautiful songs instead, which Stevie has done.

Fortunate for those that can see the world, but perhaps not so for those that cannot ever see, or those that are severely handicapped. But maybe able bodied people handicap themselves by not appreciating or viewing/travelling what the world has. I know I have a bit, spending years in Uni's, Tech Institutes, Work, etc. Basically institutionalized. Well just get pics/news from places I wish I had visited...

I am so sure of my beliefs that I don't need any support.

Requiring support suggests some uncertainty.
