1414863 2016-01-25 04:07:00 All in all Id say go with what feels right, its you driving it, so it seems like your comfort and practicilty is paramount.
I have a Suzuki Escudo / Grand Vitara. 4wd 2002 love it, up graded it from a Jeep Cherokee - which I miss terribly, but since its only me that drives it, I felt it had to be my choosing and be happy driving it was important. it doesnt have a tow bar, but man it fits lots of stuff in the boot!
We are still looking for vehicles at times, and have taken many for test drives, but the prcie put us off most of them. (multi seater things 7+ seats)
If it is what you want, get it. :D Happy driving :)

1414864 2016-01-25 04:52:00 Thanks Beetle, about the only one on here to give positive advice.

However the choice to buy has now been taken out of my hands, it sold this afternoon to someone else who saw the ad, asked no relevant questions about it regarding the transmission flush and the earlier recall of the aircon unit, like I did. I was prepared to sign up for it tomorrow, after being informed of the known problems, plus the high ks of course.

Them's the breaks, hopefully for the buyers not literally. But am a little disappointed that I wasn't given first option.
The dealer phoned and said he would watch out for other similar deals for me.
Meanwhile, I still have my car and the money is still in my bank. So, no worries, there will always be another car.....

Cheers, LL

1414867 2016-01-25 06:18:00 Maybe next car you keen on and want to get checked ...tell them to put a hold on it, or first refusal ? they may have sold a car, but in the long run they may have lost a customer...

And yeah there is always another vehicle somewhere.......... :D

1414868 2016-01-25 06:43:00 probably my bad, their purchase just came out of the blue. Not concerned about losting it, just a little disappointed that the dealer did not let me know sooner. lakewoodlady (103)

1414870 2016-01-25 08:34:00 I'm guilty of impulse buying so last time I was determined to take my time and buy something I'd be happy with. 3 cars I looked at sold overnight while I was thinking about it, I still think I missed a couple great options.
The Camry I have now I bought the day I test drove it, but it was low km's and a car known for it's reliability and the second one I looked at so not the same situation. 8 years later and it has never given me trouble.

The cars I missed out on and still wished I hadn't? (remembering this was 2008)
A Mazda 2002 6 2.5L with 60,00 km on the clock, selling cheap at a dealer closing down sale
A 2002 toyota MKII Grande - 2.5L straight 6, rear wheel drive, leather interior, was just a little worried it was an uncommon model here, really wish I'd bought it

Both were cheaper than the car I ended up getting, and both were a little more fun to drive. Maybe that impulse buy is not such a bad thing.
