1414271 2016-01-12 18:10:00 i don't however like the current farming practices on this planet which produce toxic, malnourished food.

Malnourished? Meat animals aren't. Not in NZ anyway.
Toxic?

You think 1000's of years ago, chasing your animal out in the wild - that animal was healthier?
No.

1414272 2016-01-12 20:59:00 People who dislike things seem to like using anecdotal evidence where no causal link has been established. To exaggerate an example of what is often done, 200 years ago the average lifespan was a lot lower - maybe 40 years. There were no cars. Therefore cars must be making us live longer.

You can't take 1 or even a few isolated practices and blame cancer on them without extensive science to back it up, you have to look at everything that has changed and try and figure out what the many causes are and which are most to blame.

I'd suggest the biggest reason for the worldwide increase in cancer rates is the simple fact that we have eliminated many of the common causes of early death and are living longer. Cancer is almost inevitable if you live long enough. Still I can't prove that and am not going to search out evidence, I'm only trying to suggest that food is just one of many factors and may not be anywhere near as bad as you think it is. That doesn't excuse cruel farming practices of course.

200 years ago (and less) doctors would often take a wild guess as to cause of death, making up generic terms when they had no idea: eg bad blood

Bittman leaves no issue unexamined; ..... fad diets.... all come under scrutiny .

Bittman has been publicly criticized twice by the physician and nutritionist David Katz for making erroneous health claims in the New York Times. According to Katz, Bittman instead seemed to have formed his opinion based on blog postings .

1414280 2016-01-18 10:36:00 We as a species have the choice to continue to develop our bodies and brains in a healthy upward trajectory, or we can follow the Western example of recent decades and intentionally poison our population with genetically altered food, pharmaceuticals, vaccinations, and fast food that should be classified as a dangerous, addictive drug.
