As for Bunnings/Mitre 10 I have been served by "mature" staff. I think they were former tradesman, since they also deal with well...trades people as well. Need that knowledgeable service. One man that served me looked in his 70's, and knew all the various torx/hex bits, sockets, and angled drivers and the brands I wanted. Keen and very helpful. |

There was an older guy in the Henderson Bunnings like that. Brilliant. The other staff knew their stuff too, paint dept, tool dept etc.... Sadly it's gone and the huge one in New Lynn isn't as good, well the staff we met anyway..... They should have rehired the Henderson guy. |

As an ex tradie now working at Mitre 10, I actually enjoy catching up with the other tradies who shop there, most of them I already know, but then I'm not on the shop floor, I do the quoting for the trade dept. |

Father works there. He would say different. And from what I heard I would say very good for a chain store. And he is not a ex tradesman | plod (107) | ||

| 1414048 | 2016-01-06 18:08:00 | I reckon they might have a chance if the branches were sold off as franchises. To me at least they still have a good reputation. I'd be in if I had the cash. | Greg (193) | ||

| 1414050 | 2016-01-07 01:05:00 | Certainly agree with that. Just went past their Paraparaumu shop and it is still open, which surprised me somewhat. IIRC the Pram one is a franchise, not end by JAYCAR |
