seems a bad deal. you can get a much late car with less milage then that. I purchased a 1.8 corolla 2008 for roughly same amount with 162,00km on the clock 3 months ago.

1414842 2016-01-22 05:56:00 At the end of the day, we are talking about replacing car with approx 100,000, with one thats done 200,000m (approx)

I cant see how that could possibly be a good idea .
Then again we dont know what the present car is like, maybe its a rolling wreck, infested with homeless cats and with wound back mileage
:)

Pros: will be upgrading to slightly newer vehicle with iVTEC engine and other improvements, including cheaper insurance for having immobiliser, more comfortable seating on long distance, rear parking mirror, smoother auto trans gear change, 1 year WOFs (although will keep checking for issues in between). It has a service history and WOFs with Morrell Motors. Despite the higher ks, I am still tempted. I only average around 7500 ks per year.

Not a CRV which is what I want, don't want a corolla.

1414844 2016-01-22 07:16:00 I just did a quick search on trademe for CR-V's under $10K and 2002 onwards and it seems like there are better deals around.
Like this one for example www.trademe.co.nz and that's a dealer also.

Maybe it'd pay to shop around a bit.

Hmm... Not the Sport model with the higher specs though? Haven't committed yet, still looking. Took it for a test drive with son this afternoon, neither of us could fault it. Has a consistent WOF and service with local dealer and no faults detected. Was a reluctant trade in.

Looks like it's had 2 owners(carjam) . Most importantly if you still interested is verifying that the transmission has been properly serviced at the correct times also as you said has been serviced at the local Honda dealer(check this)

Most Japanese cars are very reliable around this km's but you have to remember that things will probably crop up in the next 50/100.000km's

Not a fan of dealers with used cars.
They charge much more than a private seller, in general.
Sure they have to have a type of guarantee but it's iffy with older cars, and they lie just like anyone else.

better to buy privately and take an experienced mechanical person with you to thoroughly check it out.
