1414261 2016-01-12 02:49:00 If we aren't meant to eat animals, why are they made of meat?

Save a tree - eat a beaver.

So are we!! :banana :banana

1414262 2016-01-12 04:10:00 Oh my goodness... the rent includes a juicer!!!! Oh happy happy me! I've always wanted to flat with a juicer!

But the burning questions which beg to be asked - can ex-cannibals be included or would that be a point against an applicant? Will you accept Jedi students? If you accept my application, will you also accept my choleric grandma with her advanced leprosy condition, or will you discriminate against us for that?

ps: is there a discount for half vegan foods?

And what about swimming facilities - I understand the nearest public pool is quite far away. And... how close is the nearest mental health facility which you attend - we might need a lift there once in a while. And do you have an axe sharpening stone either for free or to hire?

Lol at cannibal comment

1414263 2016-01-12 04:30:00 Meat is made from vegetables isn't it? My sister is a vegetarian and seems to be healthy enough, it's not for me though. I would not do well in a Vegan household.

incidentally i like meat.

i don't however like the current farming practices on this planet which produce toxic, malnourished food.

don't get me started on the food-like products masquerading as 'healthy' AKA all processed foods.
if it has a packet, its not food.

You are of course entitled to eat whatever you prefer for whatever reason. All food is however food whether it is processed or packaged or not. If it has any nutritional value at all that the body can use then it is food.
You may not like current agricultural methods but the only way to change it to to reduce the worlds population by at least half, if everyone attempted to adopt your preferences half the worlds population would starve as we simply cannot produce enough food without these practices you disapprove of. If you can afford to eat the way you want then go for it.

Of course most seem to deny that the world is overpopulated and instead want more people and continuous growth so expect your healthy food choices to continue to diminish. Luckily for me I like processed food.

Another point, many areas of the world are deficient in some of the requirements for a healthy diet. NZ for example is naturally low on Iodine which is why it's been added to salt for the last few hundred years. If you only ever ate organically grown food in this country and avoided Iodised salt (which comes in a packet so must not be food right?) you might very well develop an Iodine deficiency. But you know, processing is always evil right? www.nutritionfoundation.org.nz

1414266 2016-01-12 08:06:00 Renowned activist and author Michael Pollan argues that cooking is one of the simplest and most important steps people can take to improve their family’s health, build communities, fix our broken food system, and break our growing dependence on corporations.
In the video below is a snippet from a speech of his which shows how McDonald’s select the potatoes they use to make their french fries.

As cancer rates continue to rise around the world studies consistently show the links between pesticides and GMO’s. Corporations like McDonalds only work to drive down their costs and increase their profitability and use GMO’s and pesticides to do this. It’s time people woke up and understood just how much of a lethal impact processed foods are having on humans and the planet.

Sorry to scare you mate, but... poisons are amongst everything that you see, hear, feel and breathe, nevermind anything else you might ingest through your skin. They're not just in what you eat. You can't escape them.

They're out to get you!

hysterics not withstanding, there is much you can do to choose higher quality foods than settling for mass produced foodlike products.
