Kaitaia = 46.8 degrees Bluff = 35.7 degrees That is quite a difference in terms of finding a signal, added to by the more difficult task of getting the right azimuth, which is rather hit and miss unless you have a compass built into the van that is not interfered with by the van itself. |

| 1414125 | 2016-01-08 06:54:00 | you guys are probably not getting anything close to what i would call a decent signal. but as long as it works it doesn't matter. a hand held compass to get rough direction, flick the dish around until you hit the signal. picture is still the same regardless. only difference is in bad weather. those little hobby meters are handy, especially if the tuner has a poor signal readout. |

Actually you are wrong if you are talking about a Wingard aerial - it is four times that, being two full turns. But, whatever blows your skirt up. The azimuth is much more imprecise, so the more accurate you can be with the elevation the less faffing around you have to do with the other adjustment. |

A bit pretentious on your part I think. no just simple deduction. i'm an ex-tech, i know what signal the various sizes of dishes get, including the van dishes, in the best signal area of the country. i'm probably a bit fusser, but thats what you get from being a pro. |
