1414022 2016-01-05 01:23:00 Went to DSE here earlier today they were taking the gift cards off the shelves. A few mins later someone asked for one. Too late

I'll probably get most of my things from Ebay. A lot cheaper than here. That's if you can get them here

Dont think you'd want them anyway.

From Stuff

The receiver of embattled electronics retailer Dick Smith has confirmed it will not honour outstanding gift vouchers or refund deposits paid for goods.

1414024 2016-01-05 01:34:00 Nah didn't need a gift card.

Got what I want from Ebay the other day, for this Lumia (dropped it last week cracked the digitizer, so got one off Ebay for $11 (when it was available here, it was over $80)!

And tablet (to save me carrying it, it's 10.1, I got a case thing and built in mini keyboard for it for $19). Couldn't find anything here

1414025 2016-01-05 04:20:00 First RadioShack, now Dick Smith....

I wonder if Jaycar will be next? They seem to be just as much of a ripoff now as Dick Smith was 15 years ago.

Does anyone actually buy anything from them? Farnell and RS-Components are almost always cheaper than Jaycar, I find.

1414026 2016-01-05 04:40:00 I did buy a SATA hdd for a a laptop for someone else from Jaycar here. A while ago. Since it's the only shop here that sold them. Besides going online to buy it somewhere else

I think they get most of their computer stuff from Pbtech

Only if your pay increases.

1414030 2016-01-05 18:08:00 Yes Jaycar had better watch their prices.
With so many people being aware that you can get stuff much cheaper online (in NZ and overseas)

Its better to sell twice as much stuff with a smaller margin than half as much stuff with a high margin.

1414031 2016-01-05 18:20:00 Its better to sell twice as much stuff with a smaller margin than half as much stuff with a high margin.I disagree with that... eg if you sell twice as much stuff then your stockholdings increase and so do storage and various other associated costs. Greg (193)
