| 1413945 | 2016-01-03 22:43:00 | Anybody else thinking of giving up landline? I pay $ 100 a month for unlimited B/B and unlimited use of phone, on top of that $38 for two cell phones. I am thinking there would be a big saving with a cell phone plan with B/B with one of the 3. I am sure with a communal input we should reach the answer. |

(just a few txts a mth). And I doubt the people I /we know would want to see their phone bill after ringing a mobile. Some of them can talk for 2 - 3 hrs ! I pay round the same (or just under) for UL BB and free tolls. But the cell is prepaid |

I kept it base I am thinking of setting up a couple of websites and thought it might be better. And my g/f wants me to get some of those cordless phones in the lounge and the bedroom for "safety" (But I am not so worried about that) But then again I am probably wrong. The sooner we all ditch the copper, the better as then Chrous will no longer have a cash cow. |

Don't you have any free numbers you can nominate on your plan? I have 6 numbers I nominate (nationwide landline or cell phone numbers) and those numbers are free to call as much as I want Any number can be changed once per month 80 gig plus phone plus those 6 nominated numbers is costing me less than $70 |

So no one would ring the other as it would cost them ? Most plans with who ever, have free cell usage / month. If a person doesn't ring a lot - or gas bag for hours and stay within the free usage, then fine. SWMBO rings her mother in Foxton, they can talk for hours over a month,so we have on the land line /plan 100 hours of toll calls to any land line in NZ, costs $20 /month. Even though I use it to call suppliers all over the country, SWMBO calls the Mother inlaw,we hardly even use 1/2 of it. |

They are still the national telecommunications wholesale provider. |
