Anyway. There is no SSE option in the BIOS.
I have not overclocked anything.

And both my hard drives are running in "Ultra DMA Mode 3"

Did you try 3dmark 2006?

597403 2007-10-09 05:22:00 I would definitely swap the video card for another, just to eliminate that as a possibility (as far as I can see, you haven't tried that yet (sorry if you have :D)), otherwise might be time to give up and get a geek in, for some hands-on magic :badpc: feersumendjinn (64)
597404 2007-10-09 06:11:00 Oh yeah. I ran 3dmark 06 and got 1362 marks. The tests were terrible. On the GPU tests it averaged 6fps and on the CPU tests it averaged a shocking 0.3fps...

And unfortunately trying a different video card is not something I can do. Everyone I know has PCI-E

597405 2007-10-09 06:40:00 Anyway. There is no SSE option in the BIOS.

SSE is a feature of a CPU, not an option in the BIOS AFAIK.

If you want to see if the CPU supports SSE, get cpuz (www.cpuid.com)

597406 2007-10-09 06:45:00 I was just saying that in response to apsattv suggestion.

But yeah in cpuz it says it supports SSE, SSE2 and SSE3

597407 2007-10-09 15:38:00 I only said about it due to the fact that nvidia changed their drivers about version 80 and older cpus that didn't support SSE such as athlon/Thunderbird stopped working on open GL stuff.

Something seems very screwed could the graphics card be underclocked? in some way?

I will be putting an agp 6200 nvidia card in a celly 2.8ghz machine this week and shall try 3dmarks 2006 and see what sort of result it gives..

597408 2007-10-10 12:04:00 Just throwing out some ideas, disregard if they are not appropriate.

1. Do you have case fans to help with cooling your system?

-(120mm case fans are good, one at front to bring cool air in and one at the back to take out the hot air from the inside of the case).

2. Have you done a disk defragmentation on all your harddrives?

-( I use Auslogics Diskdefrag)

3. Have you done a disk cleanup on all your harddrives?

-(I use CCleaner)

4. Have you checked for Virus,Trojans,Spyware,Adware, worms,Rootkits, etc.?

-(I use Avg 7.5 Free Edition Anti-virus,Avg Anti Rootkit,Avg Anti-Spyware,Ad-Aware 2007,Spybot Search and Destroy,SpywareBlaster,SuperAntispyware Free Edition,Spyware Terminator,A-Squared Free Edition).-(All of this software is free).

5. Do you have a Firewall?

-(I use Zonealarm Free Edition)

6. Is Windows fully patched and up to date?

3d mark 06 will punish most computers, unless you have a $$$$$ computer.
