597359 2007-10-04 01:04:00 Yes it's console command "fps_max *"

But default is 100. Even so I manually set it to 100 and no luck.
By normally 30 I mean one second 28 then 32 then 31 then 29 it doesn't stick at 30 so it's not a cap thing.

Also, when I was plugging in my new power supply I noticed the old Hyena one only has a 20pin mobo connector while my mobo is 24pin. What would that do to my mobo? It's now got 24pin in it cos my new PSU supports it obviously.

597360 2007-10-04 01:10:00 Lowest settings should show some improvement, but 15fps still, something wrong there...

I don't think it really should do anything, the board is designed to take better CPUs so they would need the extra power. Don't think your celeron would need that

If it needed it before it would probably have not booted at all

Try reinstall the chipset drivers anyway just incase???

597361 2007-10-04 01:24:00 Do the Celeron D's scale their clock speed based on temp or load? I know some of the late P4s and C2D's do, if the CPU is overheating it could be scaled back to a lower clock speed and thus resulting in crap performance.

Have you check to make sure the memory/FSB is running in a 1:1 ratio? If the memory is running at a slower speed than the CPU FSB then it would be causing a bottleneck.

Huh?

How do I check that?

597364 2007-10-04 18:49:00 What BIOS version are you running? have you tried upgrading to the latest? (v807):

dlsvr01.asus.com

Flash program: dlsvr01.asus.com

Once done, reset everything to defaults and clear NVRAM/ESCD, reboot, set everything back up the way you like it, try games again...

597365 2007-10-04 19:13:00 Sounds to me you have V snyc on!, that will limit any frame rate to that of your monitor. Now not sure where the setting for that is, in the driver or the game! SolMiester (139)
597366 2007-10-04 21:14:00 No V-sync is not on. And anyway my monitor is at 85hz.

Agent 24 do you think that would help at all? The only updates between the newest version and my current version is it adds more support for C2D CPU's and fixes problems I do not have. If you think it might actually help I will do it but you have to explain how to put everything back to default and what "clear NVRAM/ESCD" means.

597368 2007-10-04 23:52:00 Well I saw something on the asus forums where someone downgraded their bios for some reason and saw really bad framerates as a result.

Though perhaps if your bios was old enough it *might* have the same problem
