598199 2007-10-05 08:02:00 Hi, i just rushed my installation of my motherboard and forgot to insert the risers    I heard a "spark" type sound, does this mean it is ruined? Or can it be repaired?

Thanks

598201 2007-10-05 08:15:00 Hi, i reassembled it on the anti-static packaging it came in, and it turns on, the hard rive makes its initial startup sound and then nothing happens. The screen doesn't get anything, it doesn't seem to boot windows off of the hard drive. CamFoo (12888)

Sounds Like its Fried / shorted the board.:groan:

Is the graphic card seated completely in the PCI-E slot ? (Nothing on screen)

You can try removing the RAM and see if it Beeps to tell you no RAM - but it doesn't look good. Sparks of any kind usually mean bad news.
