598193 2007-10-05 07:00:00 Hi one and all
I just gor some MP3s off a mate and when I go to play a couple of them I get the following message

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." If I follow the "WEB Help" I get to this site that is not a lot of help to me
www.microsoft.com
Can anyone give me a resolve or point me in the right direction?

Cheers
HH

If I already have LAME installed for Audacity, will this K-Lite mess with it as it too has LAME?

To tell you the true - I don't really know - if the Lame you have is an older version it may just over write it and every thing work fine, may pay for a more informed answer from someone who's more into audio "tinkering".

598197 2007-10-05 09:40:00 Well if you're overwriting codecs, it shouldn't really be a problem as long as both the old and new codec packs were correct and work perfectly unless they are both attuned for one specific type of media player.

My WMP11 plays everything I've thrown at it and if it doesn't or I dont want to use Real Player/QT, I just use VLC Player.
