598125 2007-10-05 03:06:00 Hi guys,

Just built my first PC, the case is a Lian Li *Clicky* (www.computerlounge.co.nz)

On the front panel, I cant get the audio to work. USB is fine, just the headphone socket. Iv definately got it plugged into the right plug, according to the P5K manual anyways..

Any ideas?

Heres my system spec (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)

TIA

598127 2007-10-05 04:15:00 What are the cables on the front of the case named??

Which out of these 3 (www.imagef1.net.nz) look like the wires from the front of the case?

598128 2007-10-05 05:05:00 Seen this happen - try looking at this - make sure the front header leads are in the correct place on the MB.

Assuming they are, AND you High Def Audio, indicated by a orange speaker(normally) in the task bar, if its Realtek Audio double click it, go to Audio I/O tab, look for a blue circle with a white spanner (its small) and open that. tick disable front panel, or tick it if its unticked. Try that.

Sorry, Im not sure how to have more than 1 quote in one post, so Ill do them one by one :o

Yeah I should have mentioned that earlier, the sound all works fine when plugged into the back of the PC, but when plugged into the front, its dead. As though I havent connected it to the mobo?

I went into the Audio I/O tab, and the circle is there in the analog box and digital box, but not in the front panel box.. Any more?

Im about the shut the PC down and check the plug

The case doesnt have any writing on it, theres a pink 3.5mm jack, a green 3.5mm jack, 2 usb ports, and another jack, not sure what it is :help: Bout the same size as a lan cable plug

Heres a pic from my manual, might help match the pics you supplied?

598132 2007-10-05 06:20:00 Good pic Damz - that header is standard arrangement- As long as the plugs are in the right pins it should work ,its usually a setting.

NOTE: Make sure you use the "Legacy AC97" Pin Arrangement

Your HD Audio may look a little different then the one Here, front panel HD Audio Setting (www.imagef1.net.nz) But if it does have a look around the settings there should be something stopping it.

Note: in the unticked state as shown in the picture in the link above my front audio is dead, if I tick it - Bingo- away it goes. This had be Bug*ered for ages:groan: Found it by accident:o

Just a thought - if you look at the pictures the underneath one you will see it shows a headset - yours should be the same.

598133 2007-10-05 07:03:00 One other thing to check also - Double click the Standard black speaker Icon in the task bar ( if you have one) select Options (top Left) then properties, and make sure "front" is ticked, then OK, and make sure the slider is right up top, and not muted (unticked). Something like This (www.imagef1.net.nz) wainuitech (129)
