597890 2007-10-04 18:31:00 Hi Guys

Just an embarassing question.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card in my XP machine.

I just bought a set of Logitech speakers woofer, centre and 4 other speakers. (great bass !)

When I play my MP3's I do not get any sound out of the centre and back speakers.

I have plugged the three cables into my sound card and have gone into Control Panel / Sound and selected advanced 5 to 1 set up.

Should I get sound out of the back speakers all the time or only when proper 5 to 1 movies or songs are playing ?

Any suggestions

Kind Regards

597891 2007-10-04 18:41:00 To get sound in all speakers while playing an mp3, go into either the Creative audio console or the EAX console and enable CMSS, CMSS2, or Surround stereo. (All under the CMSS settings)

If you have the Z series of logitech speakers, the speakers themselves may have a setting (Dolby pro logic or something like that)

Yes I went into the EAX console and enabled CMSS and I also had to select 7 in 1 speakers (it was on the headphones setting !)

Great - they all go now

597893 2007-10-04 19:24:00 Er in your original post, you said you had a 5.1 setup. If that's the case, you should probably use 5.1 in your settings also... Sherman (9181)
