598355 2007-10-05 21:30:00 Dear all. As a continuation from previous thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz), I am currently trying to reformat my laptop using Windows XP recovery disk. Upon selecting the option to reformat the HDD into C: (60%) and D: (40%), the laptop then started to reformat. However, barely after 2 seconds, it says the "disk space is not enough" (upon checking Ubuntu, it says 40++ GB total space - i.e. the whole hard drive - is available, with only ~50GB in used).

I have a feeling that the error message is refering to only a specific partition, but I am not sure which one. A friend of mine suggested me to download GParted from the repository, then transfer over to my laptop and run it so that the whole drive can be wiped out. Wise choice?

Cheers :)

One problem: How to uninstall GRUB? It is still there after wiping out all my partitions (except recovery) on my HDD. Now I can't boot XP.

Via MS-DOS under recovery console?

Cheers :)

Cheers and thanks for the mouse-clicks :)
