599469 2007-10-08 15:46:00 Hi guys, I'm in the market for an upgrade on my current PC.

For ages now, I've wondered why my PC runs high end games very lag like, considering the rest of my specs are relatively high. That's when I discovered that my graphics card is fairly low end.

It's a Geforce 6150 le. with only 128 mb of memory, it can't run smoothly high end games along with my Vista OS. I don't need the best graphics card, but what cards can you recommend to me? I'm looking for something that can run Vista, and several games.

599470 2007-10-08 17:53:00 The performance may improve if you turn off the Aero effect of your Vista, since that component is a major graphics-power sucker!

How does nVidia 7600 sound to you? (256MB memory)

Cheers :)

599472 2007-10-08 18:55:00 You say the rest of your system is relatively high... What does that mean? what hardware do you have? And how much do you want to spend? Unless we know this it is pointless suggesting things. The_End_Of_Reality (334)
599473 2007-10-08 20:05:00 If you want to run highend games you really need to spend some cash and buy a highend card! The 2900PRO arrives on the 10th and would be an awesome buy as it looks like it will retail for just under $500! If your not an ATI fan the 8800GTS 320mb is good value but slightly slower than the 2900PRO.

Ultimately it comes down to how much you want to spend, and whether your PC is new enough to have a PCIe 16x slot. If you choose a highend card you may also need to replace your PSU as they all need a decent PSU.

It can't run games regardless of the O/S .
Its not a graphics card - its an intgrated chip . Onboard graphics in other words .

Unless you have a PCI-E slot on your motherboard then you won't be able to add a separate decent graphics card .

Sorry to burst your bubble son, but rating of 7.5Ghz?, that must be a marketing gimmick mate, your CPU is only 2.6Ghz, but will run like a 3Ghz P4, but able to process 2 separate thread at once!

599478 2007-10-09 02:23:00 If you bought it as a whole then what supplier was it? Model no. etc. Also what is your budget?

It will have a PCI-E slot for a graphics card btw.
