He made a huge radiator out of copper piping and buried it in his backyard, for a good 9months per year it was below 0 outside. Made for a very quiet cooling solution as it had no fans the only thing that made noise was the pump, which was hidden away making the system practically silent. Pete O'Neil (6584)
599051 2007-10-08 20:22:00 Water cooling!

Water and electricity, highly incompatable!

Water pipes. Never seen one that didn't leak sooner or later.

A 24 hr leak test is a step that is recommended in the strongest terms when setting up a water cooled system. Ignored at peril.

Anyway, the sort of people that set up water cooled systems never leave their systems alone for long enough to evolve leaks.

599052 2007-10-08 21:03:00 Sure water cooling is great for temperature and performance... until a hose leaks or you gain dripping condensation... Too risky imo, nothing a few internal fans, a spot on the floor near the AC, or a few desk fans can't cure DigitalMessiah (7649)

If you take physics then liquids exchange heat faster and better than air

do you really get condensation? unless you have a refridgeration unit that isn't going to happen as the pipe should be warmer than the air by a few degrees
