| 599596 | 2007-10-09 06:05:00 | XP Home Trying to do sfc /scannow and keep getting following message window: Windows File Protection Files that are required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache. Insert your Windows XP Professional CD-ROM now. I am using XP Home. I have copied I386 from XP disc to C:\ and re-directed the registry to C:\ and restarted but I still get the same message. My original sourcepath was C:\DOCUMEN~1\Ron\LOCALS~1\Temp\WFTVFMNT\ If I use Expore to follow that path I seem to have no WFTVFMNT Any suggestions please? |

If you need to run it from a folder in the PC as you have done, open regedit go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Set up You can then edit the Reg_Sz string "SourcePath"="D:\i386" to the location you have the I386 file |

Thanks anyway |
