| 599740 | 2007-10-09 23:30:00 | Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllpp pppppppppppppp. I just recently put together a new computer and forgot to partition my drives before installing xp. I have two 250gb drives. One is the c:"windows" drive and the other is d:"stuff". I already partitioned the D: drive into 4 partitions and it worked fine. The trouble is trying to partition the c:"windows" drive. I tried to resize it, didn't work. I tried to create an extended partition on it, won't work....I am about ready to throw it out on the street. Is there anything I can do other than using fdisk and reinstalling xp??????? :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: | gemini051977 (12906) | ||

Anyhow you need non destructive partitioning software, Partition Magic is one that springs to mind but you'll need to pay for this and it hasn't been updated in several years. What software are you currently using? Otherwise you could try something like GParted: gparted.sourceforge.net |

| 599742 | 2007-10-10 08:39:00 | I am currently using Partition Magic 8.0 I tell it to resize and make a new partition on the drive. It asks me to apply the changes, I say yes, and restart it. when it restarts, it goes thru the bios and then just sits there like a dumb blonde in an S. A. T. After 30 minutes, I have to restart it, and it comes back up in normal windows, but the drive is still only one partition. | gemini051977 (12906) | ||
