599642 2007-10-09 07:33:00 Has anyone found out how to delete a file on a usb drive with vista? If you highlight it & press delete, nothing happens & if you right click it there's no delete option. Tried changing permission etc. Phil B (648)

Does your key come with special drivers or something?

599644 2007-10-09 08:10:00 I've just been experimenting & found it's because this usb drive has a password protected partition. Even if it's open & I can access it, the files won't delete. The unprotected partition works ok. I'm wondering if it's because I created the partition in XP (fat32). Problem semi solved, good enough anyway Phil B (648)
599645 2007-10-09 08:18:00 Is it one of these U3 flash disks??

These have 2 partitions on them, and can also be pw protected.

599648 2007-10-09 10:20:00 Which file system is it formatted in? Have you tried deleting the file on another PC? I recommend you format the drive in FAT32 using Vista, just to start from fresh. (FAT32, so older PCs can still see it, definitely not because it is a superior file system.) If you want a superior file system use ext2.... :p wratterus (105)
