600826 2007-10-12 00:23:00 Hi Guys

My new motherboard an MSI K9 Platinum has three USB jumper pins on it.
They are numbered 1, 2 and 3.

I want to connect my top USB ports to the motherboard.

Does it matter which jumper pins I use ?

Why do they have 3, as each handles 2 usb ports plus the four on the back of the computer. That seems quite a few USBs !

Shouldnt matter which one you connect the wires to.

Just MAKE SURE (if the USB connector/s you're connecting, have separate connectors), you connect the wires to the right pins!

Is this the K9 SLI Platinum AMD mobo ?

If it is, then yup, looks like it supports up to 10 USB ports

600828 2007-10-12 00:53:00 Trust me, you'll need all those USB ports once you start using your computer. I have 6 and I'm going to have to buy a hub very soon to cope with all the devices I have to attach. beeswax34 (63)
600829 2007-10-12 02:27:00 Really bee? I have 5 in the back, two on the back bottom, and two up top (only one working) and I have 4 still open, I can't even think of anything else I need, I guess if you add a USB Printer (I have an LPT one still lmao) a camera, webcam, and something else you may need additional ports. but jeez...

Also, the Motherboard Documentation usually has a setup guide, i have an MSI K8NGM2-FID motherboard
