601036 2007-10-13 06:24:00 ridiculous.

.....it may not run many games or video editing but then an S3trio 1mb card is a 'base graphics card made for websurfing and emails'.......

He is correct in saying that this card will not run games.

There isn't one for that price.

Decent and cheap in the same sentence as far as gaming is concerned is not possible.

601040 2007-10-13 11:29:00 You do realise that Ascent will build your computer for free, right? george12 (7)

Actually they charge 2% to build it.

I build for no extra cost.

601042 2007-10-14 04:13:00 Okay so I made a new comp up at ascent.

hope it's alright.

if I have made any mistakes or if you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know, as I'm pretty n00by when it comes to building comps. I just went off my quote and changed a couple of things.

Not sure what vista to get, dunno what 64 bit and 32 bit have to do with it?

601043 2007-10-14 05:14:00 Replace the case with one that has no PSU and buy a separate good one. Also swap the Hitachi HDD for at least a Western Digital. Seagate is recommended. Other than those two, I think you'd have a very nice system. qazwsxokmijn (102)
601044 2007-10-14 07:08:00 If you purchase the parts PB Tech should build the computer free of charge. User125567 (12917)
601045 2007-10-14 07:20:00 I guess you didn't like my advice :p

The Kingston RAM you put is inferior/slower to the SuperTalent and costs $100(!) more. Change the HDD to a Seagate or Western Digital, not only because warranty is better on Seagate but they are more reliable. The one I mentioned is the same price and has double the cache.

$400 is a bit much on a 19" monitor that has an average contrast ratio (700:1). Most now have 1000:1. Hell even the budget $364 20" Viewsonic has.

With the $100 in savings from the RAM you could get a Q6600 but I guess you want the E6750. I can't force you to buy it :D

Edit: And yeah you will need a better PSU then the generic craps they put in cases.
