| 601207 | 2007-10-14 01:34:00 | the last thing my pc did was freeze on me and i turned it off to reset bios and clear cmos. before that it would restart on me or just freeze out of nowhere for that day wich was 2 days ago. the mobo is new, the power supply is new, ram has always worked so has the video card, before this i had an ecs motherboard that kept overclocking my cpu wich is also the reason i got a new heatsink cause my old one wouldnt hold. it powers up everything comes on even hdds and dvd drive, my case led turns on but stays on the whole time unlike before where it would blink. | deathracer (11825) | ||
| 601208 | 2007-10-14 01:39:00 | System specs would be good. Is there any beep on startup? Try taking out the RAM and turning the PC on. It should beep like a mad thing. I see you've already tried resetting the BIOS. It's probably the motherboard, ECS are crap. Also, try taking out any PCI cards, especially a modem if you have one installed. |

| 601209 | 2007-10-14 01:47:00 | In the title you put Nothing on Screen - does the monitor switch on. Meaning normally someplace on the monitor there is a little LED that when the PC is off its normally an orange/brown colour, when the monitor turns on it changes to Green - Does this happen? Just trying to see if the signal is getting to the monitor. |

| 601210 | 2007-10-14 02:23:00 | i have a pentium 4 3.06ghz, asus p5n-e sli motherboard, ddr2 ram 512mb 533mhz, nvidia 7100-gs pci-e (box said 128mb pc picks up 256mb), 580watt power supply. the signal gets to the monitor cause it stays that orange/ brownish color and would turn green if working. i wanted to do that thing where i take out the ram but not sure if my case or mobo has a speaker connected. | deathracer (11825) | ||

And does the LED turn Green ? If it stays Orange/brown then theres no signal. You didn't say Only confirmed that it changes color IF the signal gets there???? |

| 601212 | 2007-10-14 05:33:00 | not right now it just stays that brown color like it would in hybernation or when the pc is off but connected, when i disconnect it the monitor does that text thing where it says "not getting a signal" | deathracer (11825) | ||
| 601213 | 2007-10-14 05:43:00 | not right now it just stays that brown color like it would in hybernation or when the pc is off but connected, when i disconnect it the monitor does that text thing where it says "not getting a signal" Okay - the Monitor is detecting the PC, but the signal is not getting from the PC to the Monitor. Remove the Graphic card and blow out any dust from the slot, Replace the card and see if any diffence, if not then either there may be a fault with the card or the slot. If possible try another card. If the PC has a speaker, with the card removed try turning it on, as long as it doesn't have onboard graphic's as well it should go nuts with beeps meaning it can't detect a card. If able try the PC on another Monitor, or try another monitor on the PC to see which is not working right. |

Check your PC on your friends Monitor, that should be OK. As for the remainder of components Hmmmmm be careful, simply because if some part is faulty in your PC and its put into your friends it "may" cause problems with theirs also and if your MB is faulty it "may" damage their parts. |

| 601216 | 2007-10-14 09:37:00 | im pretty sure most if not all motherboards have a buzzer on them, like the old 56k modems did, otherwise how could you diagnose the problem. my old board, before it died, had an LCD hex readout. not heard of them not having some sort of error warning device. | Cho (12330) | ||
