| 601994 | 2007-10-16 02:51:00 | Yeah I'm aware FF uses quite a bit more memory than IE and is often plagued by memory leaks (google around for fixes). You just need to go easy on the extensions you do install and make sure you only install ones that you really need. I notice a lot of people have Foxytunes installed yet most of the time they end up opening their media player from the taskbar. |

| 601995 | 2007-10-16 02:51:00 | He says: Just look at Firefox, one of the poster children for open source. It loads more slowly than ever. It will be on some page within a tab, and that page will be refreshing ads or something in the background, and Firefox just hangs all its cycles there, slowing down the whole computer. Every couple of days the browser is hogging cycles, and I have to go to the Task Manager and kill it. I use Mozilla so I wouldn't know. There are other choices out there too, its not IE or FF only you know. |

I'm with you on that one:thumbs: Just look at Firefox, one of the poster children for open source. It loads more slowly than ever. If Firefox was that slow for me I would never have gone for it. |

He was using FF as an example. But you knew that right ;) Anyway, thats his opinion, and he's entitled to have it IMHO open source rocks  |

| 601999 | 2007-10-16 06:13:00 | Eh, FF could and does take up 200k of memory sometimes (40 or so tabs open) and I don't really care. Its great, its still faster than IE and much safer and the add-on's simpl can't be matched. If he's unhappy with FF, he;s more than welcome to go back to IE:lol: PS. They are fixing the memory leaks in Grand Paradiso. |
