601491 2007-10-15 20:13:00 AVG (free) is the only app that does this. My other AVs are NOD32 and Avast

Other AVs? You do know you can only have one installed at a time, don't you?

One AV.
Several Anti-spywares.

601492 2007-10-15 21:03:00 Think about it for a moment pctek. Only one active virus scanner. braindead (1685)
601493 2007-10-15 21:21:00 So, whats the point in having more than 1 AV program then?

If the others are disabled / aren't active/running.

601494 2007-10-15 22:29:00 AVG (free) is the only app that does this. My other AVs are NOD32 and Avast and they find nothing. I heard AVG has lots of false positives.

Anyone got a take on this?

Many thanks ~ John

Ummmm, am I to take it that you have 3 AV's installed?

If so, that could be your problem.

Whoops, everyone posting at once.

601495 2007-10-16 00:15:00 Active only refers to their scanning mode. The 3 still exist on the same system and run processes and other things such as updates in the background. Get rid off all but NOD32 and see what happens. beeswax34 (63)
