601917 2007-10-15 21:30:00 Suddenly, just when I needed it most, Mozilla won't connect to a website, and still won't.

I did a sytem restore, retyped the address, tried everything I could without joy.

Every other user I have spoken to has had no trouble.

I haven't contacted the ISP as I don't think that'sthe issue, but it might be???

Can anyone help?

Cheers

601918 2007-10-15 21:34:00 It might help if you gave us the URL to check and advise what ISP you use. Greg (193)
601919 2007-10-16 00:19:00 Check if the website isn't at fault.

Go to Start and Run
Type in cmd
Type in "ping (website url)" and hit enter
Type "tracert (website url)" and hit enter

See if there's any packet loss or if a connection times out somewhere.

601920 2007-10-16 17:04:00 Thanks Beeswax, but I get the same request timed out message and I'm told 4 packets were sent and 4 lost...

So I dunno.

Telecom Xtra is the isp and I share a connection with another in the office. As far as I know so far only this website is timing out: fishserve.co.nz

Any other ideas please - I do appreciate your suggestions.

Cheers

601921 2007-10-16 17:10:00 I am indeed a dumb f--k.

Why didn't I reboot the modem before?

Maybe because it's not my own connection...anyway, problem solved, thanks guys.

601922 2007-10-16 17:14:00 Try a different site:

www.google.com

maybe some drunken sea captain dropped another anchor on the cable again.
