602984 2007-10-19 04:19:00 Hi Guys

Can anyone recommend a decent free web design application that is easy to use and learn. As we don't really want to spend money on something like dreamweaver or expression web.

Thanks.

602985 2007-10-19 04:29:00 NVU (or it's also called Komposer in some places) is a good freebie, it's got the options of WYSIWYG... what you see is what you get, where you can drag and drop images etc into what looks like the actual page, or you can play with the 'background coding' if you get keen. It also has some good tutorials/help pages. . Shortcircuit (1666)

Any others?

Either Dreamweaver which is the industry standard or what ever free WYSIWYG stuff you can find.

Some Magazines include old versions of web design software. At one time one magazine was giving away an old version of Dreamweaver (version 1, 2 or 3 I think)Sometimes old versons of webdesign software is included with things such as printers and scanners.

602989 2007-10-19 07:28:00 NVU, Kompozer an off shoot. Bluefish, Quanta Plus are all free. I'm not sure if the last two have a Windows version or not. mikebartnz (21)
602990 2007-10-19 08:01:00 notepad is always a winner :D its free, and no learning needed, apart from which ever language ya wanna use.

depending on what the host provides service wise. php, sql and others, could use a free CMS.

http://www.openwebdesign.org/ looks good for templates once ye have ya software sorted.
