There is a free website design program called nvu. A free ftp progam called FIlezilla. Regarding hosting, I would recommend paying a NZ company as they can usally help you upload your website etc. If you go for one of the really cheap ones, they usually won't provide much or any support. |

If you can't pay, then you are likely to get stuck with advertising on your website, which is what most free hosts do, and they tend to load slowly. However if your are with an ISP such as Xnet, they give you free 10MB of hosting space, although I don't think you can connect it to a domain name. |

| 602733 | 2007-10-18 07:15:00 | Depends on why you are doing it. If it is just to put some stuff on the net for others to access, then use your ISP free space. If you want to create a 'proper' website, or even just to toy around with configuring and using the server etc, you will be able to find one for less than $40 a year if you look hard enough.
