602341 2007-10-17 04:46:00 My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A135
Intel Pentium 1.73 Ghz
1GB RAM
120 GB hard drive
Window Vista Home Premium

Can my laptop run Mac OX 10.5 Leopard which will release next week? Or do I need to buy Mac Notebook?

Do you think $NZ199 is cheap for new operating system such as Mac OX Leopard?

Thanks.

602342 2007-10-17 04:56:00 Wouldn't you need the hardware as well? Speedy Gonzales (78)

Apparently it can but it is not an easy, supported or guaranteed process.
Speedy has already stated the easiest way, get a MacBook then you can run Windows too as Bootcamp is incorporated into Leopard

To answer your other Question:
Yes. $199 for the full OS is very good.
How much is it for Vista Ultimate?

602344 2007-10-17 05:32:00 You need to buy a computer made by Apple to run Leopard. The price is pretty reasonable in my opinion. maccrazy (6741)
602345 2007-10-17 07:18:00 I guess I have to buy Mac Notebook after all. But I can't afford that so I think I have to wait. hix hix hix DuyNZ (10405)

Apple do flexi rent and MacBooks are priced from $1,848 with a possible MacBook nano due out near December.

Start saving.

Vista Ultimate is one of 4 Windows Vista Operating systems.
Does Leopard come in 4 different versions?
If you have a current Mac will the upgrade be free?

No, Steve Jobs doesn't like independence. People must do exactly what he says.
No, they'll have to shell out for a new OS and also might have to buy a new version if iLife.

Funny how WMG compares a copy of Vista Ultimate ($749?) to a crappy white Mac ($1848). Must have failed some Maths class not to realize which one is cheaper but oh well, so if life.

Can you tell us exactly why you want to get MacOSX?

Correct CYaBro Vista Ultimate is the "Ultimate" version of Vista with everything - unlike its lesser "versions"
OS X Leopard also comes with everything in the ONE version for $199 so it is much easier to choose which "one" to buy.

If you have just bought a new Mac then you may qualify for a discount on the boxed copy of Leopard -Check with Apple for details.

As this is a NEW OS it isn't free. Its the point upgrades such as .1 .2 etc that are incorporated.(free)
Similar to the fact that you have to pay for Win2k, XP and Vista.

Might help if you got your facts right Beeswax
Vista @ $749 is for the OS only
The MacBook @ $1848 is for the laptop and the OS. The OS by itself will be $199. - which would make it $550 cheaper than the Vista Ultimate disk.
