Just found another site with good info.
wiki.team-mediaportal.com

LOF1 10750 or 11300 (2 types of LNB)

602653 2007-11-03 22:47:00 Many thanks CyaBro.

Shortcircuit yes the coffee helps a lot. I need a permanent coffee wallah here to keep me supplied. The downside of working from home i guess:-)

602654 2007-11-03 22:58:00 Here is the txt file I used to create the reg file:
You may need to change the 10750000 to 11300000 to match your LNB

dvbs_freq,dvbs_polarity,dvbs_srate,nit_onid,nit_ts id,nit_nid,DiSEqC_Port, dvbs_LowOsc, dvbs_HighOsc, dvbs_SwitchFreq
12456000, 1, 22500, 47, 21, 1, 0, 10750000, 10750000, 0
12483000, 1, 22500, 47, 22, 1, 0, 10750000, 10750000, 0

602655 2007-11-04 01:31:00 For all the great features MediaPortal has its buggy as hell, atleast MythTV is stable. Ive seen MediaPortal lock up multiple times when simply playing MP3's :yuck:

Yeah it does hang every now & then, but its not that bad(maybee once a week)
I found found it 'faster' than Lin based proggies, ie ran hi res movie files with less dropouts (important for lower spec media PC's)

602656 2007-11-04 01:41:00 Thanks CYaBro I have the same LNB.
I also added in 12707000 as a third line, same details across
Can't remember why i did, might have been for Prime or something, I read on Mediaportal forum that was another freq.

I don't have Vista to run Windows Media Centre. I don't know much about WMC really. I think XP has a version with it built in I have XP Pro here.

Looking at Lyngsat.com there is only Sky on 12707 so you don't need it.
Prime is not available via DVB-S Freeview yet.

602658 2007-11-04 18:16:00 just for anyone trying to install Mportal... my go so far:

Don't install the latest SVN of Mediaportal- more than likely it will crash Mportal. After numerous tries and failures I found that going back several releases of both the mediaportal and then updating to the 'almost latest' SVN worked.

I had to make a 'Freeview.tpl' file and put it in the Medialportal tuning parameters folder as there is no D1sat listed in the sat options.

Scanning for channels seemed to work... said found 7 channels, 0 updated but none showed in the channels menu. Resolved by closing Mediaportal and rescanning.

Looks like I'm 1/2 way there... just have to resolve the no-sound issues and it will be usable

602659 2007-11-04 23:00:00 I just installed tvengine3-11-04-2007--01-39h--Rev16435 and the same number svn.

I was getting the server missing a heap of options when i used mcraenz's satellite.xml and his ini files so I tried the default satellite.xml and set it to Optus B1,D1 and it is scanning channels no problem. I tried this a few days ago and it found no channels, the ini file on the linking website must have been changed.

It found 110 channels using that setting but most of those are SkyTV or reserved, but at least that option works now. Since the Server sees them I just hope now that the Client also does.

THere was a problem a few SVNs ago where the TVServer would not pick up any channels with a DVB-S or DVB-T card.
I think this was fixed with SVN from 31/10
