603066 2007-10-19 10:23:00 i have really crap sound in linux when listening to ppl talk on Team Speak which is really annoying, as they are always distorting and i can not hear what they are saying sometimes.

now what causes this? as music and videos play fine. also. is there anyway for the sound card to be shared by diferent programs? if TS is running it hogs the sound card. and other progs cant use it. is this a feature of ALSA?

603067 2007-10-19 14:39:00 Is TS a native linux application or you running it under Wine / Cedega?
ALSA is perfectly fine with multiple apps outputting to it, just load up two different media players and get them going at the same time.

What distro? What else is running at the same time? Whats your connection like to the internet? Anything else up / downloading? Do you have another bootable distro you can test out TS with on that same box?

603068 2007-10-19 20:14:00 yeah TS is native to linux. runniung Ubuntu 7.10 no other bootable distro avaiable at the moment.only things i had running was. pidgin, twinklephone but not in a call.

same with or without twinklephone running. was using ubuntu 7.04 yesterday, not using 7.10 so i shall see if that has made a difference. although i have noticed that the screen redraw is working a lot slower now that xgl is installed properly.
