2007-10-21 04:10:00 | When I reboot, it doesn't say "new hardware found", it's like it isn't even plugged in or anything (but it is). The snapshot, those files are exactly what I have. Refer to my other post to see the "severe.jpg" image I posted, that's what comes up when it finishes installing, then cancels. Yes they are the right numbers, I got them off the manual. I'll take a photo if you want lol.

Yes they are the right numbers, I got them off the manual. I'll take a photo if you want lol. As long as the drivers have been removed thats exactly what its meant to say, "Found New Hardware" No Need for the Manual PIC, just checking. Post back the HijackThis Log Speedy requested. |

2007-10-21 04:29:00 | I think I have found your problem GULP!! The reason behind that gulp is the fix- It may need a BIOS upgrade. See Here (www.imagef1.net.nz) from Asus Site. Please don't take this the wrong way - get someone who Knows what they are doing if you want to try this, ( Not THINK they know but DOES KNOW) - If it goes wrong the Motherboard can be stuffed, and so far things have not gone to well. I suggest you pack it up, take it to PB Tech where you got it and let them repair it correctly.

2007-10-21 04:30:00 | Lulwtf. It was working yesterday, everything was working until I formatted. I didn't format the BIOS, just the OS. From the log, how did you know it was my BIOS that was the problem?

2007-10-21 04:33:00 | Lulwtf. It was working yesterday, everything was working until I formatted. I didn't format the BIOS, just the OS. No but the new drivers from the ASUS Site are updated from the originals. If it was reinstalled from fresh and the original drivers installed ( kept off the Internet till working correctly) then it may work, any updated drivers/software can sometimes have ongoing effects. Formatting a drive completely wipes out every thing on the drive, not the MB. Chipset drivers go in first, then load as you like, I usually go Chipset/graphic/audio/LAN others as required. I didn't get the result from the LOG - I Went to ASUS, located your model, then under FAQ looked for any audio problems and found what I posted.

2007-10-21 04:37:00 | Can't I just install old drivers? If I install old drivers, would everything work? | Wardog (6821) | |
2007-10-21 04:37:00 | I didn't format the BIOS, just the OS. The BIOS cant be formatted, its the brain of a system. Its a chip on the motherboard that can be flashed / updated. Without a BIOS, you'll have a doorstop, like a body without a brain. You have to be careful when you flash a BIOS, as if its corrupted or it freezes, or you turn the power off, you'll have a dead system Unless it supports something like ASUS crashfree BIOS. The log looks ok but run HJT again then tick this entry O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file) Close browser/s first. When you formatted, thats WHY they dont work, you format a hdd, byebye everything. Including drivers. You'll have to reinstall everything again (inc all drivers, if you want them to work). Press pause on the keyboard when you reboot (on the POST screen). Tell us what version of the BIOS is on it (it'll appear up the top left of the screen).

2007-10-21 04:59:00 | Can't I just install old drivers? If I install old drivers, would everything work? Yes it should work. But you have told us earlier that you tried that from the CD you located and it didn't. As long as its the original CD, for the Original board then it should load OK. But there may have been something done that we don't know about that has altered the settings somehow. Having a PC on the bench in front of you is a lot easier to fault find than one like this where you cant look for items, only make suggestions. Last ditch suggestion - If you want to try , thats if Speedy can't come up with a working solution, go back to the ASus Site, download every driver for the board. Then Burn them to CD for possible use. Reformat the drive again, keep off the internet, then using the original CD that came with the motherboard, load the drivers. It should autorun and install all required drivers in the right order. That should work. THEN reconnect to the internet to complete any updates/ install etc.
