603860 2007-10-22 08:28:00 Thanks Guys - Think understand the process a bit better now. Of special interest were the tracert records that are quite different from mine. ganda (10870)
603861 2007-10-22 08:36:00 The tracert reports would be completely different.

It's a bit like my travelling from here to the Sky Tower in Auckland and meeting you there. We would both travel by different roads so, even though we end up at the same destination, if we compared our routes they would be quite different.

Your request for data from Canada through your ISP would use different servers to get there than mine would.

603862 2007-10-22 08:44:00 You have to take note that when you mark in the DOS Prompt and you've chosen all the text you want to press Cntrl + C and not right click to copy as this wont work. beeswax34 (63)
603863 2007-10-22 08:46:00 My earlier suggestion still stands.

- Find your IP address
- Email it to them and ask them to check their firewall settings to see if it is in a blocked range

Using a router I find the IP address through that. If you are on dial-up I think you open a command window and type ipconfig. But I could be wrong on this.

Hmm, yes I noticed. Marking then pasting worked though :)

603865 2007-10-22 08:56:00 I'm there via Slingshot from Hamilton.

Took a good 20 seconds to get there though.
