604113 2007-10-22 20:30:00 Go to your supermarket, the warehouse or Dick smiths, there's always one of those greeting card creation programs on the $10 section, and sometimes older versions are given away on cover CD

Broderbund is one brand that is often in these bargain software sections

I know the earlier versions of this (www.broderbund.com)are often available and from memory they work pretty well, you could also try looking at your local library as they often have greeting card software for hire, i know ours does

If you don't have publisher Serif (www.freeserifsoftware.com)often have older versions of their software free on their site, and they are really good and i am pretty sure there is a greeting card wizard available as a free plugin to one of their older programs,
--edit they have templates (www.freeserifsoftware.com)

604114 2007-10-22 20:36:00 I use Microsoft HomePublishing 2000 which was great on my wins 98. Much to my amazement it also works equally well on Vista Home Premium so should go OK on XP. Trouble is finding a copy of it anywhere second hand. golfer (6609)
604115 2007-10-22 20:52:00 Have a look at printfree.com. I use it mainly for calendars but there appear to be not only pre-printed cards but cards of all description you can design yourself. There are other sites via Google but I haven't looked into them in any great depth. Hope that helps. Gordon62 (11771)
604116 2007-10-22 21:01:00 Actually come to think of it, there is no reason Microsoft Greetings shouldn't be running on XP (Microsoft Bob still works on XP),
have you tried running it in compatability mode?

Is it giving an error message

604117 2007-10-22 21:17:00 Yes on 2 pc's getting diff error messages.. wrong database .. or something is missing. Played with the compatibility wizard as per ms website but not much joy as yet. May persevere.
Thanks for those other ideas Golfer and Gordon62. Will explore those options.
