| 603933 | 2007-10-21 21:26:00 | Hi all I have studio MX, and from what i have heard fieworks mx doesn't work well with Vista, is anyone here using Vista and Fireworks MX together and is it working OK I have tried searching the web but most people talk about MX 2004 whereas my version is the original MX bersion If it doesn't work, can you suggest a replacement, preferably opensource (and if possible multi-platform), yes i know about Gimp and a little about inkscape If you've used fireworks a lot you'll understand when i say it does pretty much all the basics, i can create shapes, manipulate text, edit images etc, I can't even draw a square (easily) in Gimp I'm not averse to using 2 different programs to replace it, but i would prefer an all in one solution Cheers |

Inkscape, on the other hand, is completely vector so you do lose the raster preview and such, but I find the flow of drawing much smoother in Inkscape than Fireworks, but that may be just a personal choice. If you want some more pretty effects than Inkscape, you might wanna try Xara Xtreme, but the free (as in speech) version is only available on Linux. | gnail (6819) | ||
