2007-10-20 06:23:00 | I made the mistake of updating CCleaner without reading the terms. Now I have a Yahoo taskbar that stretches right across the screen and has hotspots for baseball, music, games and much more. I have tried to remove it by using add/remove programs but that has not changed anything. Windows 2000 Pro is my operating system. How might I remove it ?

2007-10-20 07:35:00 | Yes - as Pancake says, first do that (In your browser, go to View, Toolbars. Uncheck Yahoo!) THEN go to add/remove programs and remove it (if it's still there)

2007-10-20 09:38:00 | Or just un-install and then re-install CCleaner. Take you about a minute. | beeswax34 (63) | |
2007-10-20 09:56:00 | I agree with all the posters above. Tho I don't know what it's got to do with CCleaner which I have been using for years w/out any probs. Friend of mine had one of these pesty unwanted toolbars and it was easy enough to get rid of. | mark c (247) | |

It's been in the CCleaner options for quite a while, but there are mirrors that don't have it as a defaulted option . You have to UN-check it to keep it out . . . very sneaky! Just look next time before you accept everything . . . . . |

2007-10-20 19:30:00 | [QUOTE=curly;605393]I made the mistake of updating CCleaner without reading the terms. Thanks Guys for the replies. It ended up being just so simple and something to remember if I am ever so careless again. Part of my "fixit" procedure was to remove CCleaner, but of course that did not remove it, so now to download CCleaner again and then all will be well . Again thanks.
