604680 2007-10-24 01:35:00 Mate about to buy his first computer.

He wants a laptop as he doesn't have a handy dedicated area to operate.

What do I advise him to get,I have ideas, but you folks are better able to advise than me.

1. laptop........make?

2 wireless modem...what one etc

3.Cordless mouse..thats me........

Just to say he is not sure what a computer is, so nothing fancy.

He may have to buy the modem separately

Only thing is would he want Vista on it??

604682 2007-10-24 02:00:00 Go with Dell! Have been very happy with their systems, and been plesantly surprised by the quality of their technical support. Would recommend them 100% for anyone who's not a PC expert (i.e. doesn't want a custom built system). somebody (208)

Which eliminates the high end Toshibas so...........ASUS.
Unless he isn't into quality of course.
