604561 2007-10-23 09:04:00 ActiveX appears to have been removed from IE6SP1.

How do I get it back?

I do have the original IE6 program on disk - should I just try to reinstall from that?

I think 98SE Didn't install it by default / when doing an update for example like XP does.

Found this - but I cant test it as I dont have a 98se machine handy.

Control Panel | Internet Options. Security tab. Custom Settings. Make sure the drop down menu is set to Medium, and click Reset, Yes. If its already on Medium, reset anyway. Apply and OK.

If still no joy, go back to the Internet Options, Advanced tab. Under Browsing, look for Enable Install on Demand. Untick, apply and ok.

This should create a popup asking you to install the ActiveX.

This article (forums.pcpitstop.com) may be of some help ?

604563 2007-10-24 19:33:00 Thanks for your help, Wainuitech.

The link to PC Pitstop gave me the fix.

Curiously doing it your way didn't do anything at all, but the .dll fix did.

Many thanks
