| 604394 | 2007-10-22 21:23:00 | Is it possible to subscribe to 2 ISP using 2 modem/router on 1 telephone line? I am with xtra Go Large at the moment and have been very unhappy with the download speed averaging 400KB with some file downloads averaging 10KB/s. Thinking of subscribing to Xnet and holding on to Xtra for a while (for the purpose of retaining the email address). Any advice will be appreciated. | ephesus (2509) | ||

| 604396 | 2007-10-22 21:45:00 | Hi Guys - answer is no and yes! 1/ Will need to drop the Xtra BB connection to switch to another ISP. 2/ Can ask Xtra to switch you to a $5/month dial-up plan and this will keep the email address live until you are ready to make other arrangements. Regards, Martnz |

| 604399 | 2007-10-22 22:08:00 | you need a phone line for each broadband connection at the moment. However Telecom have begun allowing other ISPs to use their cables to provide DSL without an associated phone line ( in very limited numbers at the moment ) so it may be worth asking your intended ISP if they can offer this. You'll probably have to be very clear what you want though, it's not common for home users to have multiple BB connections and you may confuse them. |

| 604402 | 2007-10-22 22:35:00 | Yep have checked and I can forward emails from xtra. Have spoken to Xtra. They have put traffic management on Go Large and advise to change to another plan which will guarantee faster speed than Go Large. In my opinion this contradicts their marketing hype on their Go Large plan of broadband speed as fast as your line allows.. Clearly if another plan will guarantee faster speed it means my line should be able to get faster broadband on Go Large. Is this a case for "Fair Go", "Consumers guarantee Act" or just bite my tongue and change to Xnet. Will probably just explore the options of another ISP. |
