I have done absolutly nothing with ready boost, although as part of my testing I did change a setting that said something like "stop retesting this device once it has been plugged in" in the properties of the usb key, but it madeno difference Nigel: When you say "then i copied the directory from my usb key to my desktop it took 2 and a half minutes", was that on the same computer which was copying from hard drive to usb drive very slowly? Yes it was, but between the two operations i removed the usb key and logged in and out just on the remotest chance that that files may still be in memory and effect the testing Its a known issue. There is a patch out, or as mentioned SP1 I cant remember the patch details, but a quick google found this: support.microsoft.com I have read about the patch but apparently MS are charging $59 for it (I'm not kidding) although they will refund you if they they decide you actually need it edit ok here's (www.computerworld.com) the link for the last bit as i am sure someone is going to call me out on it |

There is a patch out, or as mentioned SP1 I cant remember the patch details, but a quick google found this: support.microsoft.com Even after the patch it's still too slow. I use a program called Teracopy,it's really fast, even the free version. From here www.codesector.com Hope this helps. |
