605761 2007-10-27 04:18:00 Is it possible to upgrade the integrated video in and 2 year old ASUS laptop model Z8100L. I have a feeling it is faulty. Sometimes the "boxes" on a website, for example this message box that I am making this enquiry in, the bit where the smilies are and the all surrounding area begins to shimmer and turn a purple colour. I thought initially it might be a heat issue and have clean out all the vents and removed the back and cleaned inside. It seems to have improved but does sometimes do it not often but enough to cause concern. I have also elevated the rear to allow more air flow. Unfortunatley it is 1 month outside the 2 year warranty. Jaybee (6629)

Or unless you want to desolder / rip it off and put another one on.

weird, is it confined to just ie/firefox? maybe, just maybe, it isn't hardware that's the problem (thinking malware/virus - atleast you can fix those)

:2cents:

(edit: can you take a photo, and a printscreen?)

605764 2007-10-27 05:51:00 It may also depend on what version of FF you're using (If u use FF).

As 2.0.0.8 has 5 bugs or so in it, which affect flash and Java.

2.0.0.9 is due to be released next week.
