2007-10-27 02:38:00 | Hi there, I have just started getting this message everytime I try to open a Home Publishing 2000 project. "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Home Publishing 2000 Gathering required information......" It then quickly pops up "Preparing to install" and then the project will open. Any idea what is causing this? It used to open almost instantly. Many thanks.

2007-10-27 04:05:00 | I have run Windows Update and found no updates. Is there a specific place I should go to look for an installer update? The only change/new software that has been loaded recently is the trial version of Office Professional 2007, but it has been running fine with that on the system for the last month. Today I purchased the full version and checked for updates. The only update was 02ksrla.exe for Word 2000. I have just downloaded that in case it would help, but still the same. Graham.

2007-10-27 05:16:00 | Thanks for the link. Before I try the suggested fixes I should say that Home Publisher 2000 came as part of MS Works, it wasn't Office 2000. Is it safe to try these fixes as it refers to Office rather than Works? Thanks, Graham.

2007-10-27 05:21:00 | Maybe not if the entries in the registry from that site dont exist. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2007-10-27 06:29:00 | I seem to have fixed it by running a repair install from the add/remove programs panel. Sorry, I should have tried that first, but didn't think about it. Thanks for your help Speedy and Bevy. | Grimy (3041) | |
